Ehrlich-Sachs reaction

What is Ehrlich-Sachs reaction?

The Ehrlich-Sachs reaction involves the base-catalyzed condensation of compounds containing active methylene groups with aromatic nitroso compounds, resulting in the formation of N-phenylimines. The Ehrlich-Sachs reaction may also lead to the formation of nitrones.
