Ferrario-Ackermann reaction

What is Ferrario-Ackermann reaction?

The Ferrario-Ackermann reaction involves the synthesis of phenoxathiines via the reaction between diphenyl ethers, sulfur, and anhydrous aluminum chloride, AlCl3.

An alternative method involves using a carbon-sulfur electrode to carry out the reaction electrochemically.
