Fétizon oxidation

What is Fétizon oxidation?

The Fétizon oxidation method involves using silver carbonate and Celite to oxidize primary and secondary alcohols. First, the alcohol is adsorbed onto the Celite surface in a reversible manner. Then, in the second step, an irreversible electron transfer occurs, which involves a second silver cation to yield the corresponding ketone.
