Normant reagent

What is Normant reagent?

The Normant reagent, which can be RCuMgBr2 or RMgBr + CuBr, is a type of mixed-metal Grignard reagent. It reacts with terminal alkynes to produce alkenylcopper compounds that are highly reactive nucleophiles, making them useful for tandem reactions like oxidations.
