What is Tebbe olefination?

The Tebbe olefination, also referred to as Tebbe methylenation, is a chemical process that involves substituting the oxygen atom of a carbonyl functional group with a methylene group derived from the proposed titanium carbene complex, known as the Tebbe reagent. This reaction results in the formation of terminal alkenes.
