Oganesson element periodic table

Oganesson is a synthetic radioactive chemical element with the atomic number 118. Moreover, it is the heaviest element ever made. It is a silvery-white metal that is highly radioactive and toxic. Scientists think it would be solid at room temperature, but in reality it may be an unreactive noble gas. However, since only a few atoms have been made so far, its properties are not well known. It is the last confirmed element of the estimated 172 that may exist. This element was produced, in 2002, when, by a “hot fusion” reaction of the californium 249Cf atom and calcium 48Ca at the Central Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), Dubná, Russia. It is named after the Russian physicist Yuri Oganessian, who is known for his work on the synthesis of new elements.

In the electron configuration notation, the letters "s", "p", "d", and "f" represent the different types of atomic orbitals, and the superscripts indicate the number of electrons in each orbital. The orbitals are filled in a specific order, starting with the lowest energy orbital and working up.
