To dry liquids at microscale, the desiccant can be added to a container with the solution to be dried, and then separated by decanting or filtration, or a Pasteur pipette can be filled with the desiccant, and the solution can be passed through the pipette and collected in a vial. The water will be retained in the desiccant.
Drying solids at microscale can be achieved by directly connecting a container with the crystals to the vacuum, shaking occasionally to facilitate the operation. In case the solid is wet with water or alcohols, a hot water bath can be used.
