What is McLafferty rearrangement?
The McLafferty rearrangement is a chemical reaction that occurs through the electron-impact-induced cleavage of carbonyl compounds that contain a hydrogen in the γ-position. As a result of this reaction, an enolic fragment and an olefin are formed.
