What is Borsche-Drechsel cyclization?

The Borsche-Drechsel cyclization is a chemical process that involves the transformation of cyclohexanone phenylhydrazone into tetrahydrocarbazole through an acid-catalyzed rearrangement.

This rearrangement is followed by an oxidation step, resulting in the formation of carbazole.
